Privacy Policy
Figured is a daily biography reader published by Heavin Astern LLC ("Heavin Astern," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We've kept it plain.
Information you give us
- Account details. When you create an account we collect your email address (through our sign-in provider) and the display name and birth year you enter. Your birth year is used only to confirm you meet our minimum age, and it isn't shared.
- Your reading. As you use the app we store the biographies you open, finish, bookmark, and rate, along with your reading streak. This is what lets your Reading Room, stats, and streak work and sync across your devices.
- Your settings. Preferences such as text size and whether the daily notification is on.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information. Basic technical details such as device model, operating-system version, and app version.
- Diagnostics. If the app crashes or hits an error, we receive a diagnostic report (through Sentry) so we can fix it. These reports can include device and app state but aren't used to identify you.
- Notifications. If you turn on the daily biography notification, we store a push token so we can deliver it. You can turn notifications off any time in Settings or in iOS.
We do not include advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
How we use information
To create and secure your account; to provide the reading experience and sync it across your devices; to send the daily biography notification if you've enabled it; to verify your email address; and to diagnose problems and improve the app.
Services we rely on
We use a small number of trusted providers that process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — account sign-in and email verification.
- Railway — application hosting and database.
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
- Expo — delivery of push notifications.
- Apple and RevenueCat — if you buy a subscription, payment is handled by Apple through your Apple ID, and we use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status. We never receive your full payment-card details.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account; we remove your account and associated reading data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to comply with law.
Children
Figured isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Where your data is processed
We are based in the United States and process data there. If you use Figured from outside the U.S., you consent to that processing.
Your choices
You can edit your preferences, turn off notifications, and delete your account from within the app. To ask what we hold about you, or to request deletion by email, contact us below.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
